They have proven to ripen each August in the Pacific Northwest. Also known as Angelica, this fig from the Anjou region is excellent eaten fresh, dried, or made into preserves.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt is called Madeleine of \"two seasons\" because it ripens not only the \"breba\" overwintering crop in August but also a fall crop in October which, like most other breba varieties, does not usually ripen in cool summer areas.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt will also do very well in warmer summer areas.
