Rubus subg. Rubus Watson 'Columbia Giant'
When we say Columbia Giant, we're not kidding! Enjoy bountiful crops of the largest-ever, thornless blackberries. The mild-flavored fruit is firm and easy to pick, conical in shape, and sweet - with a pleasing touch of tartness and just a hint of raspberry flavor.
It is a new introduction from Oregon State University and the USDA, proven to thrive and be hardy in the Pacific Northwest and many other areas of the nation. Ripens early summer - early July here in the PNW. The plants are trailing and vigorous, and would benefit from trellis support. Expect 10-15 pounds of berries per crown.
Cold Hardy to USDA Zone: 6
Mature Height: 6'
Sun: Full Sun
Ripening Time: Early
Pollination: Self-Fruitful
