Vitis vinifera 'Pinot Precoce'

Pronounced PEE-no pruh-COE-chuh. An early-ripening sport of Pinot Noir that ripens up to 2 weeks earlier than any other Pinot Noir clone. This combination allows winemakers throughout Western Washington and in other cool summer areas to produce a high quality Pinot Noir. The wines exhibit cherry and strawberry aromas, particularly in the coolest years.

Will develop acceptable levels of acid and brix even slightly below 1500 GDD. Grows in USDA Zone 5-9. Ripens in Sept.
